Striped Tee Love Affair

There’s something so classic and effortless about the perfect striped tee. Maybe it’s our obsession with French culture or perhaps the versatility it carries with everything we can wear with it. And once you’ve found the perfect one, you’ll find yourself doing laundry 3x as often because you’ll always be wearing it. It’s casual-wear’s major key. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite striped tees below - do you have your go-to striped tee yet?

Getting the Hang of Fall

Slowly but surely, I’m figuring out what will become my go-to Fall fashion formulas (say that 5 times fast!) I’ll be honest - deciding which trends to follow along with can be difficult. It’s funny, I was actually talking with my friend Tammy the other day - and we both agreed that while we love to implement classic pieces into our outfits, we love incorporating current trends into our wardrobe too.

I think sometimes being “trendy” can get a bad rap, but I have always been about wearing what you love. And if what you love is on-trend, who cares?! However, I’m still very much a proponent of finding classic styles you’ll wear for years.

I invested in this silk Rag & Bone dress a few years ago. It’s a classic shape, and hits me right above the knee, which is the most flattering style on me. I wear it throughout most seasons - with sandals in the summer, with a jacket in Fall and with a turtleneck underneath and black tights for winter. 

Styled here with the cutest 70's style bomber jacket from MM Vintage (which I can’t seem to stop wearing - it’s so soft on the inside too!) and these fun 90’s-inspired chokers, I can’t help but feel like a modern blast from the past. What trends are you loving right now?

Boheme Striped Dress

Can we all take a quick moment and just push everything aside - like the insanity that is this political season, the equally-insane feeling that coming into work on Monday creates...to just remember how INCREDIBLE this past weekend was? I know it's so passé to talk about the weather but ALSO it's not my fault is was so gorgeous out.

Wore this dress for a dinner date with the hubby this past weekend - it's the perfect lightweight silk material and in all my favorite Fall shades. I found it at one of my favorite local shops, Take 5 Boutique, and couldn't resist. Can you blame me?

Fitcode X Hudson Jeans

You know the magical feeling when you meet someone and you just CLICK? How great it feels to have a friend where the relationship is seamless, easy, fitting, if you will. Is there a greater feeling?

I took the quiz and ended up being a 710, meaning I often have trouble finding fits that are fitted at the waist without being too tight on the legs. So of course, even though I’ve tried Fitcode before with an amazing experience months ago, I always get a bit antsy when jeans arrive. But I didn’t need to. This pair from Hudson Jeans were absolutely PERFECT. And the hubby has proclaimed (multiple times) that they're his favorite pair of jeans on me. 

I ran around DC one afternoon with my best babe Erin to test ‘em out. They’re so flattering (if I do say so myself) and stretchy enough to fill all the coffee we drank! I also wore my go-to fancy flats from Ukies (so comfortable) and my favorite new sweater from Take 5 Boutique. It’s LITERALLY the softest sweater I own. And because I’m always trying to embody French effortlessness, I tied one of my new favorite scarves from Odeme (which also arrived in *the* cutest box - I’m a sucker for good branding!) To finish off the look, I painted my nails the prettiest shade of bright navy blue, also from Odeme (my millennial sister would be proud.) Expect to see it in my nail polish rotation all Fall long.
