Denim Dress from GAP

June 2, 2015 Julien Garman
Chambray Dress

Hi guys!! I'm so excited to finally share this shoot with you - it's one of my favorites of all time!

I spotted this dress at GAP while I was helping plan Thursday's event at their Tysons Corner location (get all the details here!) Between the softness of the fabric, the effortless shape and it's boho vibes, I'm not sure what I loved best!

I wore this to our family's Memorial Day picnic at the hubby's grandparent's home. They have the prettiest farm out in the Shenandoah and it made the perfect backdrop for my new favorite maxi. Between bites of baked beans and Granny's famous crockpot mac and cheese, we snuck away to snap a few photos. Shout out to my hubby who never gets thanked on here for his amazing dedication and super-human photography talents. Enjoy his hard work below and I hope to see you Thursday!

Friday Faves - Cover-ups and Caftans

May 29, 2015 Julien Garman

With Memorial Day behind us (and weeks of working out double time ahead of us), I’m a bit behind in finding a perfect swim suit cover up. Thankfully, the internet is here to save the day yet again. Here are a few of my favorites!

GAP Boyfriend Shorts

Gap Boyfriend Shorts

First of all, I just want to thank you guys for all the incredibly sweet comments, texts and notes you shared with me in response to finally fitting back into my favorite sundress (catch it here if you missed it!) Each one has meant the world to me. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for you guys. YOU GUYS ARE BAE.

Now, onto something I completely avoided last year - shorts. It was a stressful summer last yearâ€Ķhouse hunting and a few weeks of crazy work schedules really took a toll on me (and definitely increased the overall sales revenue at Taco Bell.) But this year, thanks to a more healthy routine, I’m putting shorts back in the lineup. You can take THAT, 2 bean burritos with a side of cheesy nachos. I'm soooo over you.

While I’m getting back into the swing of wearing shorts, I must say, I am digging a good pair of boyfriend shorts. They’re comfortable, they’re flattering and you can dress them up or down. Thing is, I will always and forever have a hard time finding shorts that fit me rightâ€Ķso I was thrilled when I slipped this pair from GAP on to find they were a perfect fit! (If you follow me on snapchat, I was literally dancing in the dressing room with joy. Literally.) This dark grey relaxed henley is another winner in my book. The light-weight fabric and relaxed fit are exactly why this is going to be my go-to summer style.

And if you’re looking to add a few pieces to your summer wardrobe, I hope to see you at my event at the GAP in Tysons Corner on Thursday, June 4!

Little Victories

May 26, 2015 Julien Garman

Over the past month, I’ve embarked on a clean eating journey. I haven’t talked about it much because I wasn’t sure if I’d see results or if it was felt like just another diet. So now that I’ve been doing it a month, I’m ready to share!

I just finished the 28 Day Challenge with the Fit Girls Guide. I started it because I know I needed to change the way I was eating. My coworker was trying Fit Girls, and I didn’t want to fork out the money for DVDs, shakes and food containers for other programs. I wanted something that made my life better and more convenient even. It was only $20 for the Fit Girls Guide PDF, which included meal plans (with adjustments), a workout plan and over 2 million girls encouraging each other on instagram. So I gave it a try.

YOU GUYS. This is going to sound immensely cheesy, but I feel like I’m finally becoming the best version of myself again. I’ve been following the workouts (most days oops!) and clean eating every day. And the food is so stinking good. Literally doesn’t even feel like I’m eating healthy. There’s pita pizzas, roasted veggies with brown rice bowls, pumpkin lasagna, I MEAN, SO MUCH YUMMY FOOD.

Ok, this was totally not supposed to turn into a promo for this clean eating thing, but I had to let you in on the reason I’m wearing this dress. BECAUSE IT FINALLY FITS AGAIN! It’s been two years since I’ve fit comfortably into it. Shawn got it for my birthday yearsssss ago, and it’s been sitting in my closet after a few rough winters of eating crockpot mac and cheese on repeat.

So today, let’s celebrate little victories. Like dresses fitting once more and sunshine finally making its way back into our lives. Cheers!
