1. Start with a curated wardrobe
I may sound like a broken record over here, but it’s SO important to have a closet full of things you absolutely adore. This makes getting dressed a thousand times easier, and makes everything so much easier to find.
2. Mix casual with dressy
There’s something magical about outfits that do this. Think about it: Distressed jeans with pumps, a cozy sweater with a sequin dress, a tee-shirt with a leather skirt, sneakers with a sundress - the list goes on. For this look, I paired a pair of work-friendly trousers with an oversized sweater. I added a polished pair of flats to continue that dressier feel, but also threw in a more casual bag to the mix.
3. Focus on balance
Effortless dressing always has balance. If I’m wearing tighter jeans, I’ll find a flowy blouse to pair with it. If I’m sporting my favorite pair of wide-leg trousers, I try to balance that with a form-fitting top or maybe something sleeveless. Because I wore a big sweater here, I decided to show off a little ankle to balance the bagginess on top.
