Tied

I'm going to just go ahead and admit defeat. Winter, you are KILLING my soul (also my vibe.) You've turned me into a grouchy, go-to-bed early monster with little to no self esteem. Ok, maybe I'm slightly over-exaggerating (not really), but I am literally counting the days (one month, two days) until spring arrives. 

I really loved the little taste of spring we got a few weeks ago. Remember that one Sunday? Man I miss that day. While I was originally wearing this turtleneck over my lace dress, I tied it around my waist once it started warming up. I really love the slimming effect it has. And yes, I know cold weather is here for another two months, but I can't stop thinking about springtime picnics, starting our garden, enjoying brunch on our deck, and getting back into exercising outside...dear spring, COME SOON!

A few weeks ago, I got together with some of my best gal pals and shopped our hearts out at Mosaic District. I've talked about what I wear holiday shopping, but with the after Christmas sales, I thought I'd share one more post!

When I'm shopping, I (try to) wear things that are cute, functional, and won't get me overheated. I keep the layer game strong so I don't get cold, but wear a lighter layer underneath so I don't get too hot. Even though it's been so cold out, I've been obsessed with silk tops as of late. They're perfect for layering. This one is edgy enough to wear out with my friends (can we talk about the leather shoulder details?!), but classy enough to sport into the office as well. Bold

Yellow Coat

I love a good sale story. This jacket caught my eye last spring. I imagined Olivia Pope wearing it to a meeting with a client or out to dinner with Jake (or the president…I can’t keep up with her these days!) It was this beautiful, buttery yellow…perfect in every way. However, the price tag wasn’t perfect for my pocket. So I waited. And waited.

I had saved the coat in my bookmarks (because of course I did) and mid-summer, it went on sale. And that had one left in my size. Down from $200 to $69? It was basically free.
