Kate Spade Saturday Opens in Georgetown

This past weekend, all the people of Georgetown rejoiced at the newest addition to M Street - Kate Spade Saturday. Across the street from Kate Spade, Saturday offers more affordable and slightly edgier items than their traditional counterpart. 

I was able to snap a few pics of their new location at a preview event on Friday with Tammy from A Loyal Love, but you really need to see the store for yourself. Complete with a design-your-own-handbag station, calf hair booties, golden baubles, painted polka dotted goodness and a charing station for our ever-dying smart phones - this store is almost too good to be true. Have you visited yet?

Renewed Faith in Skinny Jeans

I had written them off. The bottom of my legs would get claustrophobic just thinking about squeezing into a pair of skinny jeans. Threw out my last pair a few months ago. GOOD RIDDANCE. Or so I thought.

Then Piperlime sent me some of their favorite fall pieces…and guess what was on the list? You guessed it. SKINNY JEANS. I about had a heart attack. What if they didn’t even fit? I immediately regretted the (numerous) pieces of pumpkin pie from the night before, as well as the (too many to count) pumpkin cookies I had the night before that. WHAT WAS I THINKING?!

I slipped them on, and literally gasped. They fit over my legs! And they were sooo comfortable! Like soooo comfortable. I looked at the tag - relaxed skinny jeans. So that was the key. They’re like boyfriend jeans and skinny jeans mixed together - these pants are the best of both worlds.

I’m also loving this floral bomber jacket! My husband took a few flying lessons (he’s basically a pilot) and so now I feel uber cool hanging with him. Like I’m part of the cool kids crowd. I pushed up the sleeves since we’ve been experiencing some warmer-than-usual weather back east. Obviously, I had to wear my aviator style sunnies.

Hey guys, remember that time I wore this and thought I was mixing prints? HA. What a joke. THIS is mixing prints.

I picked up these two pieces from Anthom at different times and I DO NOT KNOW WHY it has taken me so long to put two and two together! These separates were made for each other. The intricate details of the paisley mixed with the minimalist check are the best combo I’ve put together since macaroni and Sriracha.

Hey fall hey

YOU GUYS. It is finally cool enough for me to bust out the fall pieces I’ve been waiting forever to show you!!

I debut two of those pieces right here, right now. First up, this scarf. I had no idea Zara had so many incredible scarves until they were all sold out last year. This year, I got in the game early. This one is basically a blanket that you wear around your neck, so I can garuantee it’ll be on repeat this season. 

And, drum roll please…introducing my brand spankin’ new leather jacket! I got it for my birthday/my mom took me shopping and I got to pick it out in August and I have been just dying to wear it ever since. It also has a bit of stretchy fabric in the arm area in case I eat too many seasonal desserts this fall (which I can almost garunatee will happen.)
