Not a Regular Mom

Nothing makes me feel younger than sporting an ADIDAS sweatshirt. It brings my back to my high school days…playing sports, but also being a bit girly. And now that I’m all grown up, it’s come back into style full force.. It’s giving me all the “I’m not a regular mom, I’m a cool mom” vibes, and I AM HERE FOR IT.

Blush Jumpsuit

Ah, the beach life is the BEST life. We had a blast visiting my grandfather (he’s 98!) this past week with Chloe, and couldn’t help but snap a few photos on the trip.

Really into romantic silhouettes lately, and this jumpsuit is the perfect mix of romantic and whimsical.

Black Cropped Trench

In honor of this incredibly dreary weather, I thought it would be oh-so-appropo to share one of my favorite “new-to-me” items in my closet…this Club Monaco cropped trench. 

I didn’t really know I needed a cropped trench until I spotted this one during an event hosted by my friend Natalie at one of my favorite local consignment shops, Current Boutique. Everyone was scouring through the racks, truing to find “it girl” items at “still gotta pay the bills” prices. Nicole found a velvet blazer, another friend found the cutest embroidered sweater…and I spotted this jacket, I knew I was stick-a-fork-in-me done. 

Here was a $300+ jacket that I somehow walked away with for only $60. The way it lays, the cut, everything is perfection to me. I love pairing it with my high-waisted jeans (seen here) on the weekend and with my high-waisted midi skirts/culottes to work.

Buying consigned clothing is a great way to start building your dream closet. For example, did you know I got this Sandro blouse, this Clare V. clutch and these Matt Bernson sneakers on consignment? I’m just over here trying to LIVE MY BEST LIFE and sometimes, it seems like budgets can ruin all the fun. But not if you don’t let them. ;)

What is Hygge, Anyway?

You know that moment you discover something new and you’re three hours down the rabbit hole on a Saturday night googling literally everything about it? Friends, meet my latest obsession - HYGGE.

Hygge (pronounced HOO-GAH) is the danish word for COZY, but it goes much deeper than that. It’s all the little things that make up what we envision as cozy - heavy knit blankets, dining by candlelight on all your favorite comfort foods, friends eating a homemade meal around a table, listening to a record player, sitting around by the fire, drinking something warm from a pour-over…less technology, more togetherness.

The perfect example of this is my friend Rebecca, founder of A Daily Something. Literally everything she does and shares and LIVES is hygge. From moody lighting to the tastiest, most thoughtful dishes, I aspire to be half as cool one day.

But until then - I wanted to share my own little hygge story about how I enjoy spending cozy mornings with the fam (aka my husband and dog - and when I’m lucky enough - ERIN TOO!)
