Nautical in the City

If I had to pick one style of clothing to wear for the rest of my life, I would hands-down pick nautical. It reminds me of summers spent in Charleston and winter breaks on Marco Island.

In celebration of Spring (FINALLY!), I dressed up a nautical outfit to be office appropriate by adding a bit of classy headband sparkle, a chic spring clutch, a few of my fave delicate jewels from She’s Unique, and short booties because these feet haven’t seen a pedicure in weeks. Also, my baby curls came out to play as a result of the humid temperaturesâ€Ķbut I’d take them over the cold weather any day!

How are you celebrating the arrival of Spring?

Nice and Easy Does It

Last weekend, I spent the day taking behind-the-scenes photos for a fun shoot in Georgetown. I wanted to look stylish, but also mobile. I ended up with a soft white button up with stretchy black slacks. While my Frye boots have been my go-to lately, I can't wait to put these sore puppies in sandals in just a few short days and be rid of my winter clothes! Who's with me?!

On Julien: Black pants, Anthropologie (similar here.) Blouse, Lord & Taylor (similar from Anthropologie here.) Boots, Frye. Necklaces, She's Unique. Bangle bracelet, Lilly Pulitzer (similar here.) Sunnies, Michael Kors (similar here.) All photos by Alicia Chew.

Keen on Green

Cobblestone streets, the cutest boutiques, and coffee shops that would melt your heart. This is Old Town. Whenever the weather warms up, I drag my hubs out to all that this the super duper adorable part of Alexandria.

A couple weekends ago, we spent the day perusing shops and and making coffee stops. A few highlights from my visit included stopping in at She's Unique (bought some earrings that I can't stop wearing), a visit to Killer E.S.P. coffee shop for some lattes (AND PIE!), and hung out by the water to take a few photos.

I am so tired of the winter weather, so I wore the (literally) brightest shirt I own and some sparkly Love Juliet jewels to cheer me up. That, mixed in with the Charleston-like atmosphere of Old Town, made for the most perfect Sunday yet.

On Julien: Necklace, c/o Love Juliet. Blouse, Phillip Lim for Target (similar from Modcloth). Jeans, Lucky Brand. Sunnies, Michael Kors (similar here!) Boots, The Frye Company. Monogram belt, C. Wonder (similar here.) Earrings, Altar'd State (similar from Nordstrom.)

Sunshine and Chevron

A few weeks ago, the hubby and I flew down to Florida for our annual trip to visit my grandfather on Marco Island. I don't know about you, but I am a WHOLE new person at the beach. Smiling, eating tons of fresh fruit, jumping in the pool for water aerobics with the local residents...maybe it's the piÃąa coladas or maybe it's the sun...whatever it is, I can never get enough of it!

We ventured into Naples for an afternoon of shopping and ice cream eating (Kilwins is the BEST if you're ever down in Naples!) Of course we had to take a few photos so you could see the super adorable dress I got from Passport Clothing at Crystal Couture! Here's to spring coming soon so I can wear this lovely number again, yes?!

On Julien: Dress, Passport Clothing. Earrings, Loren Hope. Bracelet, Tiffany & Co (similar here.) Purse, Longchamp. Sandals, Handmade in Positano, Italy. Belt, JCREW Outlet (similar here.) Nails via W Salon.
