Floral Perfection

This summer, I’ve been on a mad hunt for the perfect floral pattern. You know, one not too 80’s (sorry all you neon lovers, I might be an 80’s baby but that’s about all I have in common with the era) with just the right amount of florally goodness. I found the prettiest floral purse from K.Slademade, but it sold out now. Sad face.

Then I saw this skirt. It was like a ray of sunshine peeking through the clouds. I HAD TO HAVE IT (insert crazy shopping eyes face with old lady claw hands.) I immediately ordered it. Of course, within a few days, the skirt went on sale which was sucky for me BUT AWESOME FOR YOU! I wish I could exchange this for a size up but since they’re sold out in that size, I love it enough to let it squeeze a bit of my skin. When I saw that it had “neon” in the description, I was hesitant, but it's bright in all the right areas. It’s the perfect combo of colors and prints. Full skirts are everything (thank you for hiding my cellulite!) and I'm loving fellow bloggers Laura, Erin and Shelby's cute picks! Shelby actually has this same skirt and I love how she styled it here!

I don’t care if summer is almost over - I’m gonna wear this baby wayyyy into Fall. Perhaps with a cropped knit turtleneck and booties? I think yes.

Iconic Jumpsuit

I stayed away from the jumpsuit trend for as long as I could. Since I have bigger hips (holla at my pear-shaped ladies!) I thought it would make me look like an oompa loompa. BUT THEN this magical thing happened and I discovered Estiletta, a local online boutique that carries small designers from Spain and Italy. Supporting small business is my jam, you guys. 

When I slipped on this jumpsuit, I was literally giggling. Like, in my room, laughing and taking selfies to show everyone I knew that I, too, could rock a jumpsuit. This little ICONIC number is straight from Barcelona and I wish I had it in a thousand different colors. And it is SO soft. 

I debuted my look at the W Hotel during launch of Stubble & ‘Stache, a local men’s grooming company (side note: my husband’s facial moisturizer is now better than my own and I may or may not have been using it every day since.) I paired the jumpsuit with nude heels (now 50% off with code EXTRA50) and this gorgeous, long layered chain necklace from Moon and Lola. I left the rest of the jewelry to a minimum, although I did sport this pretty polka dotted watch because, well, obviously.

Stay tuned over the next few weeks when I’ll show you how to wear this jumpsuit…TO WORK! *cue gasp* Yes, it’s possible and looks pretty darn awesome if I do say so myself.

Patriotic

This past Fourth of July, we ventured deep into the city for a picnic barbecue at a friend’s home in DC. I’ve had this dress hanging in my closet since I wore it to a Great Gatsby party last year and was determined to get more wear out of it. I paired it with a pretty scarf I found thrifting a few weeks ago and some of my favorite festive jewelry from Swell Caroline, Lilly Pulitzer and Three Jane NY. Even though I was a bit overdressed for my friend’s afternoon barbecue, it was just right for hitting up a few spots in Georgetown after the fireworks ended.

Come fall, I think this dress would look great with a sleek leather jacket and short booties, but I’d love to get a few more wears out of it this summer. How would you still this pretty little thang?
